The logging has begun...
For a few days, we could hear the trucks somewhere in the darkness before the sun came up. On Friday, 2/1, the loggers could be seen and the felling of the trees began. The sound of the tall giants thudding to the ground took our breath away. Right over our fence, one by one they fell. That huge monster machine is incredible!!! It is a jumble of mixed feelings...exciting to see the process, the sadness of losing the trees, and the anticipation of have more sunshine.
Katie is even taken aback by the heavy strange machines as she watches the trees being ripped from the ground.

There they go!!!
It is quite shocking to not see the wall of trees that we have enjoyed for so many years.
But...
Look at that view!
